Koh Pai and Koh Larn are not that far apart in distance but they are strikingly different in character. Koh Pai is usually selected as the primary destination with a stop at Koh Larn either on the way there or on the way back, sometimes however the weather patterns dictate that Koh Larn may be the nicer of the two places to be on that particular day.
Koh Larn is a busy “island community” with many restaurants and a noisy “beach happening” scene every day, however despite the islands development over recent years there are still some places around Koh Larn that are accessible only by boat and these are still really nice places to visit, The island is very “Thai” and with some good fishing, snorkelling and swimming. We even saw NEMO there a couple of months ago – No Kidding !! see the photos!
At Koh Larn and at Koh Pai guests may go ashore to the beach and explore.

This is our most popular trip for families and for couples who are not wanting an “early start” to the day but who are also at the same time wanting a full “long lazy luxury day out”, focusing on nature and relaxing and on the “at the islands” activities.
Koh Pai (Bamboo Isand) and Koh Larn (Coral Island) are not that far apart but they are totally different in character. Koh Pai is the usually the preferred destination though sometimes the weather patterns medan that Koh Larn may be a nicer place to be staying on that day.
Koh Larn is a busy “island community” with many full time residents, many restaurants and a bustling “beach happening” scene with shops and bars, however despite the islands development over recent years there are still some places on and around Koh Larn that are accessible only by boat and these are still nice places to visit, they remain very “Thai” and with some good fishing, snorkelling and swimming. We even saw “Nemo” there a couple of months ago – No Kidding !! – see the guests own photos!
Koh Pai is completely different to Koh Larn,
On Koh Pai there are almost no buildings or infrastructure at all – the island is pretty much as it was hundreds of years ago.
The beaches on the North and South sides of Koh Pai are pristine white sand with crystal clear waters, our guests may go ashore on Koh Pai to swim or explore, to collect some shells or a just to walk and get a tan.
Dolphins or “Pla Loma” may sometimes be seen swimming in a group in the channel between Ko Pai and Koh Larn.
The boat will leave from “Dock A” at Ocean Marina and then power outbound going North – in the direction of Koh Pai, fresh tropical fruit will be served.
This trip will take around 45 minutes if going directly to the island, however depending on the weather there will sometimes be a stopover for fishing along the way, either above a shallow reef or closer to Koh Larn.
Guests will be invited to try their hand at fishing for 30 minutes or so.
Any fish caught can be as “catch and release” or they may become “instant sashimi” or even kept for an hour or so and served freshly cooked from the BBQ along with lunch – depending on what the guests prefers.
Our crew will assist with the baiting of hooks and some help with instructions for anyone trying fishing for the first time.
On arrival later at Koh Pai or at Koh Lan guests wishing to go ashore will be taken to the beach by our small boat – dinghy. There is no need to decide right away about a “beach trip”, trips ashore can be made early or later in the day or you can even just be really lazy and never leave the boat all if that is what you want to do, there is no rush !
For those choosing to remain on board they will be able to swim, snorkel, Paddle Board/SUP or Kayak directly from off the boat. Those that opt to go to the beach early will be picked up well in time for Lunch (about 12:30)
Lunch will be mainly comprising of a selection of Thai dishes plus “shish kebab” skewers cooked fresh on the boats BBQ, also a choice of some traditional Thai dishes and sweet desserts.
Any Guest with allergies or who has special dietary requirements, Halal, Vegan, “No beef”, “No Pork” “No Fish” “No prawns or Shrimp” is “No Problem” as long as this is indicated to us at the time of booking – we will then be able to ensure to have on board some special catering for these situations.
After Lunch the crew will gather all the guests aboard and then head either across to Koh Pai or to Koh Larn, depending on which was visited first in the morning, once at anchor at the second stop again the full range of water activities will be on offer, beach visits also will be made possible.
Being back at the marina by 16:00 allows the chance to return to town early or perhaps to stay over and to try one of the many great local seafood restaurants on the beach areas close to the Marina, our staff will be pleased to help you make dinner arrangements on request. These restaurants offer great food. Excellent prices as compared to restaurants in the city and usually also some great sunset views.
“Things to Bring” – Towel, hat, Sunblock, swimming costume, loose comfortable clothes with long sleeves, a desire to relax and unwind – but dancing is still OK !
Maybe a “change of clothes” is good if you will go directly to dinner after the trip, showers are available on the boat or at the Marina.
All Entrance fees to Ocean Marina and to any Island or Beach destination.
Also included are drinking water, soft drinks, fruit, tea and coffee on request, bait for fishing – or for just feeding to the fish !
Use of Kayaks, Stand Up Paddleboards, Snorkelling and water toys for kids and for the “young at heart”
Not Included but available on request, at the prices displayed on the boat, will be; beer, wine, snack foods and fresh beach towels.
At Koh Pai and Koh Larn there are usually local operators of smaller tours for “Jet Ski” and “Banana Boat” types of activities – our crew will help arrange these for our guests on request however the financial arrangements for these activities are between the guests and the local operator.
